I’ve been discovering the joys of virtual desktops in Windows10, which I believed was solely for sightlings who couldn’t keep their stuff organized. It’s actually quite nice.
Yeah. Virtual Desktops have been awesome for years in Linux; but initially in Windows, they were only a visual thing, mainly because alt tab didn’t honor the setting and would take you to applications on other desktops. Luckily they fixed that.
I have been using them for a long while now and it is a godsend when I need to work on well work stuff, keep a couple just for that, and I can keep windows I have open organized.
Nice, I have about three for different apps of vayring kinds, and use one for work stuff. It keeps things really simple when I get work to keep it segregated.
I’m open to adding a third if it becomes necessary, but I’m getting by with two. I could see where three would be useful if I was editing website content or something.
Virtual desktops have saved my life during major mixing projects. I want nothing but my daw on the screen .

I decided to start doing it because my work and personal machine are the same in the pandemic, and I would get overwhelmed by the number of apps open.
This lets me have everything open, be productive and an active participant.
Virtual desktops plus nUtils equals killer combination.
TBF, i never appreciated the concept of open tabs in a window Vs. multiple browser windows until i started doing chromebook. Now I do it all the time.
What is NUtils? I’m thinking norton Utilities; but now I’m just showing my age. 😛
Lol! Fortunately not, though it is an old utility that has aged well. Allows you to hide and show windows from your alt+tab list.
IT also allows you to force kill applications with windows+f4. Like WinWizard for nvda, but a stand-alone app.
interesting. Will have to check that out.
i love those nwo i no how to use them

I have one for Discord, mastodon, Spotify, etc., and one for e-mail and other work related programs.
